Chemical Blacking

Using the chemical conversion treatment Chemical Blacking, we are able to provide a highly decorative black finish on most ferrous surfaces.

Applying this process means that a uniform colouring can be obtained, plus the dimensions of the item are not altered

This is done by immersing the components into a heated (140oC) sodium hydroxide solution, with additions of strong oxidising agents, and then finally dipped into a corrosion inhiited mineral oil which improves the appearance and the corrsoion resistance.
